VANCOUVER, BC–LAFC are in pole position in their Concacaf Champions League quarterfinal tie against Vancouver Whitecaps after a 3-0 win in the first leg. The entire damage was done in a span of ten minutes as Dennis Bouanga scored either side of a Kwadwo Opoku strike.

Bouanga scored in the 55th minute with a laser strike from 30 yards out to give LAFC the lead. Six minutes later, Vancouver made another contribution to the Twitter feed “When Playing it out of the Back Goes Wrong”:

Bouanga stripped Andres Cubas of the ball just outside of the penalty area and Kwadwo Opoku did the rest. Four minutes after that, Bouanga completed the scoring after turning Javain Brown and roofing the ball past Yohei Takaoka. The second leg of the this quarterfinal tie takes place on Tuesday, April 11th at BMO Stadium in LA.
