The only suspense appears to be who’s going to win their respective league by more points?  Chelsea or Bayern Munich. The latter extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to ten points after defeating Eintracht Frankfurt, 3-0, combined with RB Leipzig falling to Wolfsburg and Dortmund falling at Hertha Berlin (BVB now 16 adrift).

The first half hour was a bit slow by Bayern standards. Indeed, the visitors almost went up first in the 20th minute. Branimir Hrgota was in on goal, but Mats Hummels tracked back to slide tackle the ball away before Hrgota could shoot. Bayern would take the lead on 38 minutes with goalkeepr Lucas Hradecky and defenders focusing on Thomas Müller who crossed to an unmarked Robert Lewandowski for the opening score.

Hrgota almost sent an instant reply with the goal wide open, but he scuffed his shot wide. A minute later, Bayern doubled the lead. This time, David Alaba would cross to Douglas Costa who scored from point-blank range in the 41st minute. Ante Rebic nearly got one for Frankfurt, but struck the bar from an angle. Minutes later, Lewandowski got his 100th Bayern Munich goal after collecting a cross from Arjen Robben and beating Hradecky near post.

The next match for Bayern is in eight days as they travel to Borussia Moenchengladbach. Kickoff is at 11:30am CT.
