Amid Rumors Sporting Looks to Consolidate Playoff Place

When you are in an off week, allowing any international players to join up with their teams and play, sometimes the quiet can create interesting rumors.

For the players this will not phase them a bit as they prepare to face a San Jose Earthquake side that is on the outside looking in with  nearly no room for error.

Sporting can benefit from the fact that Ike Opara and Roger Espinoza are nearly back and that the internationals were good for the most part.

Graham Zusi and Matt Besler may not have been happy with how the USMNT fared but they were told they could return to KC after the loss to Mexico.

Krizten Nemeth scored a brace for Hungary as they just missed out on qualifying for the 2016 European Championship.

Marcel De Jong scored a blinder from long range to help Canada to a 1-1 draw against African power Ghana.

Sure the last time that either these two squads faced off it was a 5-0 slaughter of Sporting KC at Sporting Park.

But since then there has been a little time to rest while winning the all important US Open Cup final at Philadelphia and then followed by a quick game against Portland where the Hungarian sensation Nemeth scored a goal of the year tally to win 1-0.

Each team has something to play for but with the Earthquakes needing the full three points Peter Vermes will just look to sit back and hit them on the counter and fly back with three in the bag.

Prediciton: Sporting score often as SJE push and leave themselves open 3-1
