VANCOUVER, BC–The Whitecaps moved ever so closer to the red line in the Western Conference with a 2-1 win over Austin FC at BC Place on Saturday night. A Sebastian Driussi goal just before halftime for The Verde was seen by Erik Godoy in the 70th minute and doubled by Deiber Caicedo in the 83rd.
The Whitecaps are now unbeaten in their last ten and are within one point of seventh-place Real Salt Lake. Austin FC, after starting life with two wins from their first three away matches, are now winless in their last nine away from the Q2 (0-7-2) and sit 12th in the West.
