FOXBOROUGH, MA– The New England Revolution has officially announced their new Home Kit for the 2024-2025 MLS campaigns.

On Thursday, December 16th, 1773, The Son’s of Liberty quietly boarded three ships (The Eleanor, The Beaver, and The Dartmouth) carrying cargo of British East India Company tea moored in Boston, Massachusetts. On that day, 342 chests of Tea were smashed and dumped into Boston Habor. It is reported that close to £92,000 pounds ($1,700,000 in 2022 of tea was destroyed.

The event which became known as The Boston Tea Party was monumental and was a direct spark to beginning The American Revolution.

The 2024 New England Revolution home jersey, coined “The Boston Tea Party Kit” celebrates the 250th anniversary of the historic event.

The red and white ripples on the jersey represent the effect of when crates crashed into Boston Harbor during the Boston Tea Party. This foreshadowed the ripple effect that the Boston Tea Party would have on the battles of the American Revolution ahead.

On the back neck of the kit sits The Liberty tree icon. This icon is inspired by the Flag of New England which was flown during the Battles of Lexington and Concord, which keeps the Revolution at the heart of the team’s identity.

The jock tag of the kit highlights the “R” from the New England Revolution logo. The “R” used is derived from the East India Trading Company font which adorned the doomed tea crates.

Revolution defender Dave Romney was asked about the kit while the Revolution are in preseason in Florida.

The defender stated, “It’s good! To be honest, the first time I saw it, I wasn’t so sure about it. But seeing it a second time, I actually liked it. So yeah, it’s good”.

The New England Revolution are currently 0-3-0 in preseason. (3-0L v New York Red Bulls, 3-0L v FC Cincinatti, & 3-1L v Orlando City SC). They have two remaining matches versus Orlando City SC (February 14th) & FC Cincinatti (February 15th).

Caleb Porter and the New England Revolution have two preseason games remaining as they are set to face the Philadelphia Union (Wed, Feb. 14), and FC Cincinnati (Thu, Feb. 15). For all MLS content, you can find it on the MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
