COMMERCE CITY, CO–Colorado Rapids played spoiler to Austin FC’s playoff hopes with a  1-0 win at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Saturday. It is just the three home win for the Rapids as they pull four points clear of the wooden spoon while Austin FC’s winless streak now extends to eight matches and are now six points adrift of the ninth and final playoff spot with three matches to play.

Andreas Maxso got the game’s only goal in the 41st minute after heading in a corner from Connor Ronan. Marko Ilic made five saves on the evening. The Rapids will try to play spoilers again on Wednesday at FC Dallas (7:30pm, Apple TV).
