Before the 2023 MLS season started, there was some excitement about a rematch of that classic 2022 MLS final between Philadelphia and LAFC.  With LAFC in the Campeones Cup and Philadelphia resting Jakob Glesnes and José Martínez, and the nasty weather forecast keeping away fans, it hardly seemed the rematch.

In the second half, Daniel Gazdag appeared to score off a rebound from Tai Baribo’s shot off the crossbar, but the play was called offside.  The score by game’s end was 0-0.

Philadelphia has clinched a playoff spot, and remains in fourth place on the MLS table.

Pictures of the game appear below:

At the second minute, Aaron Long raised his elbow into Carranza’s head, possibly justifying a red.

Uhre protecting in defense during an LAFC corner.

The passing game of Jack McGlynn.

Jesús Bueno maintaining control while Mateusz Bogusz tries to pick his pocket.

Carlos Vela did not get into the game until the 71st minute.

Nathan Harriel is airborne to control the ball.
