VANCOUVER, BC–Vancouver Whitecaps had arguable the most straighforward result in the first round of Concacaf Champions League with a 5-0 first leg win over Real Espana of Honduras at BC Place. Five difference players scored for the Whitecaps:  Tristan Blackmon, Ryan Raposo, an own goal, Pedro Vite, and Brian White.

“It does a lot [for our confidence],” head coach Vanni Sartini said after the match. “Of course, we were coming from two performances where one was very good, one okay, but we didn’t harvest anything. So, it gives confidence again. It gives a little smile again to everyone.”

The second leg takes place in San Pedro Sula on March 15th (3pm PT, FS2). Vancouver’s next league match takes place Saturday against FC Dallas at 2pm PT on Saturday on Apple TV.
