COMMERCE CITY, CO–The result that helps neither team. Colorado Rapids and Houston Dynamo played to a 1-1 draw that keeps the Rapids two points below the playoff line and four teams to pass while the Dynamo are eight points back with eight matches to go and in danger of becoming the third team in MLS history to miss the playoffs five consecutive seasons (Toronto FC, Chivas USA).

Lalas Abubakar gave the hosts the lead finishing off a cross from Felipe Gutierrez in the 48th minute, but the Rapids were later reduced to ten men ten minutes from time after Bryan Acosta received his second yellow card, and then Sebastian Ferreira broke Rapids fans’ hearts with an equalizer in the fifth minute of second half stoppage time.
