COMMERCE CITY, CO–It’s the international break for women’s teams around the globe and the US Women’s National Team began theirs with a 3-0 victory over Colombia at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Colorado.

Colombia’s achievement in this match was to keep it goalless after the first half and goalkeeper Catalina Perez managed to stop two penalty kicks on the night. However, the USA dominance would eventually pay off in the 54th minute as Sophia Smith scored from 19 yards out to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. Smith would get a second goal six minutes later with another assist from Rose Lavelle. Taylor Kornieck then headed in a Megan Rapinoe cross in stoppage time to complete the scoring for the USA.

The USWNT will play Colombia again on Tuesday night, this time at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, UT. Kickoff is at  8pm MT on ESPN.
