A marquee matchup early in Major League Soccer’s 2021 season went decisively to the Sounders in a 3-0 decision over LA Galaxy. Raul Ruidiaz scored either side of a Brad Smith strike to give the hosts the three points and top spot in the Western Conference table after three matches. Ruidiaz now has four goals in this early going while Smith has two.
Next week, both sides are in rivalry games on network television. Galaxy will host “El Traffico” against LAFC on Fox on Saturday (5pm PT) while the Sounders travel down I-5 to face the Timbers on ABC on Sunday at noon PT.
