Eryk Williamson and Jeremy Ebobisse called to train with the U-23 U.S. Men’s National Team combined preparation camp

What a year for the Portland Timbers midfielder Eryk Williamson and forward Jeremy Ebobisse, getting a call into a combined preparation camp by the U-23 U.S. Men’s National Team and to train alongside the USMNT Senior squad on January 9th at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida

So far, this has been a great year for both Jeremy Ebobisse and Eryk Williamson, with Ebobisse showing off his mettle and for Williamson becoming a regular starter.

This season for Jeremy Ebobisse, he was tied for the club lead in goals (8) and tallied two assists for the Timbers after appearing in 18 regular season matches (11 starts) in the 2020 campaign.

This call for the U-23 will be third after 20 appearances in the U-20s scoring a total of eleven goals and one cap with the Senior USMNT. With the USMNT, he started and played for 66 minutes in the win over Panama at the University of Phoenix Stadium on January 28th, 2019.

For Eryk Williamson, this was the year he became an impact player in the Portland Timbers starting eleven in the MLS is Back Tournament and claiming the starting role till the end of the season.

Eryk Williamson tallied three goals and five assists in a career-high 21 appearances (17 starts) for Portland in 1,417 minutes in this 2020 season. Overall, in 2020 Eryk Williamson tallied three goals and six assists in 26 appearances (22 starts) across all competitions for the Timbers.

At the international level, Williamson has earned his second call up to U-23 USMNT and with 20 caps in the U-20s and scoring 4 goals. His first call to the U-23 USMNT was for a domestic training camp in Herriman, Utah in 2019.
