Hail to the Portland Timbers Diego Chara being named in the 2019 MLS All Star roster

Portland Timbers midfielder Diego Chara has been named to the 26- man roster for the 2019 MLS All- Star Game in Orlando, Florida.

Diego Chara is in the 2019 MLS roster to compete against La Liga giant Atletico Madrid at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida, on Wednesday, July 31, at 5 p.m. (PST) on UniMas, FS1, TSN and TVA Sports.

In the past Diego Chara has been overlooked for past All-Star games and for this edition he was among 13 selections by MLS manager James O’ Connor. With the fans voting to pick the XI along with Commissioner Don Garber having to select a couple of picks.

Finally, justice has been awarded to one of the league’s top defensive midfielders to play on his first All- Star game since his arrival a Portland in April 23, 2011. Diego Chara before his debut with the Portland Timbers he played for Colombian first division side Deportes Tolima.

Overall Chara is considered one of the most consistent and talented of players in the Timbers initial eleven.

Ever since his debut with the Portland Timbers the man has been an unmovable starter with more regular starts with one club (242) tackles and no MLS players has recorded more tackles (853) and tackles won (677) in regular season than Chara.

So far, Diego Chara 33 with the Portland Timbers is their all- time leader in MLS regular- season appearances (244), games started (242) and minutes played (24,412) across all eras (1975- current).

Diego Chara has been a three- time Timbers Players’ Player of the Year, by appearing at least in 27 matches in eight consecutive seasons. In addition of playing in four postseasons with the Portland Timbers and being vital to winning the 2015 MLS Cup championship and last year appearing in the club second MLS final
