Polster joins Scottish giants after four years with the Fire.

Former Chicago Fire midfielder Matt Polster has joined Glasgow Rangers on a two-and-a-half-year contract pending international clearance.

Polster, 25, played four seasons with the Fire at midfielder and at right back making 92 total appearances scoring three goals. He has been capped once with the US National Team in 2018 in a friendly against Bosnia.

Polster missed most of 2018 with the Fire after MCL surgery and appeared in just three matches. He joined Rangers initially on a trial basis and impressed manager Steven Gerrard enough to offer him a contract.

Polster would become the third ex-Fire player to join Rangers after DaMarcus Beasley (2007-2010) and Carlos Bocanegra (2011-2013).

Polster’s departure means there are now no more players remaining on the Fire who were there prior to Nelson Rodriguez becoming general manager (now also club president) and Veljko Paunovic becoming head coach.
