The Seattle Sounders start their U.S. Open Cup campaign tonight against the USL side the Sacramento Republic
The Sounders reeling in league play are looking to jumpstart their season tonight. The short handed Sounders will face hungry Republic side looking to pull the upset. The Sounders do have reinforcements coming as they have signed six players from S2 to short term agreements. the six are Ray Saari, David Olsen, Nick Hinds, Rodrique Ele, and Marlon Vargas .
Expect a very young side for the Sounders as the team will go with youth in this game. Given how the veterans have struggled this season and with more than a few nursing injuries its a smart approach.
Still their will be a mix of the first team and S2.

The Sounders need something to build on heading into Saturday against DC United. Given the Sounders history in the Open cup winning 4 and being in 5 finals in the MLS era, coupled with the 2 semifinal appearances in the USL this is the perfect avenue to turn the season around.
