Chicago Fire 2- Tulsa Roughnecks 1

On Saturday, the Chicago Fire ended their 2018 preseason in fine fashion earning a 2-1 win over the Tulsa Roughnecks of the United Soccer League. Now the hard part begins.

The Roughnecks would take the early lead thanks to a goal from Jhon Perez in the 17th minute. But the Fire would make the come back in the second half, defeating their USL affiliates with goals from Nemanja Nikolic (69′) and Elliot Collier (78′). Chicago will start their 2018 MLS campaign next Saturday when they travel to Minnesota to take on United (1pm CT, MLS Live). Meanwhile the Roughnecks preseason will continue their preseason preparation ahead of their March 17 opener against Oklahoma City Energy FC.

Rusty Sliber has a full recap of the match while Emmett McConnell has an interview with Collier. In the meantime please enjoy some of our photos from the match courtesy of Don MacGregor (you can see all of his photos of the Chicago Fire on SmugMug).
