Colorado Rapids: 2016 in Pictures

0

The 2016 MLS season for the Colorado Rapids was as successful as it was surprising. Rebounding from a last place Western Conference finish in 2015, the 2016 Rapids finished second in the Supporter’s Shield standings and narrowly missed a trip to the MLS Cup Finals when they were beaten in the Western Conference Semifinals by eventual champions Seattle Sounders.

Colorado’s impressive season featured a 14 match unbeaten streak and they became the fifth team in MLS history to complete a regular season without losing at home. The Rapids attack struggled to find goals and the team ground out plenty of draws that should have been wins. But Colorado endured injuries to key players like Jermaine Jones, Kevin Doyle and ultimately, Tim Howard, to find success. 2016 marks the most successful regular season in team history, a mark Pablo Mastroeni and company will look to surpass in 2017.
