Hertha Berlin coach Pal Dardai said that if Bayern had a good day, his team would have no chance. Bayern had a good day and Hertha had no chance. Arjen Robben returned to play and Bayern cruised to a 3-0 win over the capital club at the Allianz Arena and are now the only team in the Bundesliga with a 100% record.

Bayern got the scoring going on 16 minutes after Franck Ribery slalomed past two defenders and then slotted the ball past Rune Jahrstein to go up 1-0. It could arguably have been more before haftime, but for Jahrstein, poor finishing, or goal line clearances.

Bayern would increase their lead in the 68th minute after a pass from Jahrstein put defender Allen in a bad position and got stripped by Thiago who had an easy finish for 2-0. Five minutes later, Thiago turned provider who found Robben in the area. Robben found space and then put it in the upper 90 in his first match back from injury.

“I’m really happy. It was our best performance of the season so far. [Franck] Ribery was fantastic,” said FCB Manager Carlo Ancelotti. “We’ve also got some important players back in the team – Arjen Robben and Jerome Boateng, both of whom came through the game without any problems.”
Robben said that his introduction in the match gave him goosebumps. “I’m delighted to be back. I’ve put everything into it [after weeks out with an injury]. It’s hard to describe.”
Next up for Bayern is an away trip to Hamburg SV on Saturday. Kickoff is at 8:30am Central time on FS2.
