Seattle reign’s Kim Little and Houston Dash’s Rachel Daly has been called up to the Scotland and England squads for their final EURO2017 qualifiers.

Little’s side visit Iceland on September 20th almost certain of automatic qualification for the finals to be played in the Netherlands in July. Iceland are group favorites having won all seven matches including a 4-0 defeat of Scotland but the Scots are currently the best placed second side among the eight groups.

The eight group winners and the six best runners-up progress to the finals. The remaining two second-placed teams competing in a play-off for the last spot at next year’s 16-team tournament. The Dutch qualify automatically as hosts.

While a draw will be enough, coach Anna Signeul’s side could qualify for their first major event before then if other results on September 16 elsewhere go their way and other likely second placed sides cannot emulate their record.

Houston Dash’s Rachel Daly has been called into England’s squad for the qualifying double-header against Estonia and Belgium. England have already qualified.

Dash might stand out a little. 21 of Mark Sampson’s 23 woman squad play for just four clubs; Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Notts County.
