What mystery lurks in the mind of Jim Curtin the week following the Union’s 3rd straight loss and their worst start to a season in the club’s history? If Curtin can’t come up with a means that gets the team unraveled his head may be next on the chopping block.

Now that Rais Mbolhi has come back to training camp does that suggest that Curtin may be ready to pull out all the stops to put a victory away against a very good Vancouver team? A team who had a tie on the road against the Portland Timbers last week.

Vancouver’s 3-1-1 road record is the best in MLS

What else can be expected in this cross-conference game than to try and put some quality into the game so the Union can “make breaks” not “catch them”?

On the attack the Union will be facing Vancouver’s strong defensive line. Expect them to put in a very strong shift as they did against Portland although it may not be as defensive. The Union must open up aggressively and move the ball inside out finding connection with Ari or a crashing midfielder like Ayuk or Pfeffer.

The Union back line needs to build off the performance last week of Richie Marquez and get that part of their game locked down if that are to get a positive result against the Whitecaps.
