Rapids Remain Winless at Home

COMMERCE CITY, CO–The Colorado Rapids’ winless streak now runs to eight as they played to a goalless draw with San Jose Earthquakes. The draw places the Rapids second from bottom in the entire MLS table.

It was a litany of missed chances for both teams. Cole Bassett had a shot stopped by Daniel in the 14th minute. San Jose hit the woodwork twice in the match. In the 51st minute, the Rapids were reduced to ten after Moise Bombino picked up his second yellow of the evening. Despite the man disadvantage, Colorado had a golden opportunity in the 70th minute when VAR awarded them a penalty after it was determined Rodrigues felled Michael Barrios in the area and not simulation as originally ruled.

However, Connor Ronan’s spot kick was saved by Daniel. That would be one of five saves for Daniel while San Jose were unable to post a shot on goal from their 11 shots total.
