Columbus Crew release 2023 MLS Schedule

Christmas — or Crewsmas for Columbus Crew fans — came early as the 2023 MLS schedule was released on Tuesday. The long wait to watch the Crew and Wilfried Nancy get to work, now has a date, which will open up February 25 as the Crew head to the city of Brotherly Love to take on the Philadelphia Union.

The Crew then come back to the Buckeye State in the home opener against D.C. United, and former winger Pedro Santos on March 4. Another former winger, Derrick Etienne Jr, comes back to Columbus March 25 when the Five Stripes of Atlanta United travel to Lower.com Field.

A match that is on everyones calendar, and is probably circled is the Hell Is Real Derby against FC Cincinnati, with the away leg on May 20 at TQL Stadium, while the two Ohio rivals meet again on August 20 in Columbus.

There is a great possibility that Columbus could see World Cup winner Lionel Messi in action, when Inter Miami take on the Black & Gold at LDC April 29.

Columbus will travel to the Pacific Northwest to take on the Portland Timbers on July 15, which is the last game leading up to the Leagues Cup break.

The Crew are on the road for three straight matches from late August to mid-September, before returning home to face rival Chicago Fire on September 20.

To round out the season, the Crew will face Wilfried Nancy’s former club Montreal CF on October 21, labeled as Decision Day. The narrative of that is yet to be written, but will have some significance pending how both teams fare during the season.
