VANCOUVER, BC–For the first time in four years, the Vancouver Whitecaps are in the Final of the Canadian Championship. The Whitecaps got there by defeating York United of the Canadian Premier League, 2-1, at BC Place.

Brian White scored a brace in the second half for the Whitecaps to put them ahead, 2-0, before Isaiah Johnston pulled one back for York six minutes from time, but the Whitecaps would hold on and will now host Toronto FC (4-0 winners over CF Montreal in the other semifinal) at BC Place on a date to be announced in July. The winning side will receive a berth into the 2023 Concacaf Champions League.
