TUKWILA, WA–FC Dallas’s MLS NEXT Pro side, North Texas SC, left Cascadia with a couple points as they defeated Tacoma Defiance, 6-5 in a shootout, following a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes. Alfonso Ocampo-Chávez opened the scoring in the 27th minute, while North Texas SC’s Bernard Kamungo found an equalizer in the 70th.
The penalty shootout lasted seven rounds with the deciding round seeing Sota Kithara missing wide on his penalty for Tacoma while Isaiah Parker made good on his spot kick.
