Portland Timbers Beat LAFC 2-1

The Portland Timbers extended their unbeaten streak with a home victory over LA FC at Providence Park. Timbers opened the scoreboard in minute 21 with a goal by midfielder Dairon Asprilla. Six minutes later in a controversial penalty call by the referee Chris Penso, on a hand ball by Timbers midfielder Sebastián Blanco. The  LAFC forward Cristian Arango didn’t waste the opportunity and brought out the equalizer. The first half ended with the 1-1 tie.

Portland Timbers midfielder George Fochive, who came out of the bench for Chirstian Paredes, would score the second and winning goal for the Timbers in minute 68.  Fochive could have had another goal, but Referee Chris Penso invalidated the goal for a previous off side call by defender Larrys Mabiala.
