Felipe Mora’s opportune score via a header in stoppage time lifted his team to a 2-1 win over LAFC, making it back-to-back wins for the Portland Timbers.

Diego Valeri opened the scoring with just two minutes into the game, taking a pass from Josecarlos Van Rankin. It was Valeri’s 100th goal in a stunning fashion.

But later in the 17th minute, Diego Rossi sneaked a pass to a wide-open Carlos Vela, who scored in his second consecutive game, on a left-footed finish for the equalizer.

As opportunities arise for both teams in both halves, it’s when Giovanni Savarese’s magic started to play once again a big role in today’s win by bringing Dairon Aspirilla and Cristhian Paredes in the 67th minute and later in the 74th minute when Sebastian Blanco and Felipe Mora came in.

However, before that in the 71st minute, LAFC almost went up  when Rossi though he had scored off a corner kick from Vela, but the play was called offside to the relief of the Timbers.

Once again, the match looked like a sure draw and share of points for both sides, That’s when Mora got across from Sebastian Blanco and in the right place, he beat his defender and beat Romero far post, giving the Timbers the win and turning all of Providence Park into a madhouse.
