ARLINGTON, TX–Mexico prepared for Concacaf National League play with a 2-1 win over Iceland before over 44,000 at AT&T Stadium on Saturday night. Iceland got on the board first after Edson Alvarez accidentally deflected in a shot from Birkir Saevarsson in the 14th minute. However, Mexico would come back through Hirving Lozano scoring twice in five minutes to give El Tri the win. Mexico plays its Nations League semifinal against Costa Rica on Thursday in Denver at 9pm CT on Paramount+ in English and Univision in Spanish.
