The Portland Timbers have been hard at work in the past week by dealing with both Marco Farfan going to LAFC and Julio Cascante to expansion side Austin FC, and as reported by ESPN’S Jeff Carlisle, a possible move of defender Jorge Villafaña to the LA Galaxy.

Today, the Portland Timbers made it official today the arrival of former left-back from Argentine League Club Atletico Banfield Claudio Bravo and signed a multi-year contract using Targeted Allocation Monies (TAM).

His arrival is pending on a physical and receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P-1 visa before his addition to the Timbers roster.

For Claudio Bravo in videos shown by the Portland Timbers on their page, the young argentine shows a lot of skillset and ability in the defensive backfield as well lauded in the attack.

This is a player of the caliber the Timbers needed and soon he is acclimated, there are no doubts of his effectiveness and dominance in the field and to uplift the defensive backfield, something the Rose City side was in much need of a player of this caliber.

Claudio is a young talent who has all the attributes for a great future,” said Timbers head coach Giovanni Savarese. “We are very excited to have him, and his skill set is a very good balance of offense and defense at his position.”

Claudio Bravo’s career has been solely with Club Atletico Banfield since 2017 and played at the international level with the Argentinian National Team U-23 with eight appearances and winning the 2020 CONMEBOL Pre- Olympic Tournament.
