As the air begins be be just a bit cleaner in Seattle, the Sounders marched back to the top of the Western Conference for the night with a 3-0 win against LAFC at CenturyLink Field. Nicolas Lodiero scored twice from the penalty spot in the first half–one given via VAR for a Dejan Jakovic handball and the other a foul by Latif Blessing. Lodiero is not 14-for-14 all time from the spot in MLS.

Raul Ruidiaz added a third eight minutes from time to ensure the three points. Meanwhile, LAFC find themselves in the middle of the log jam where six points separate third-place Minnesota (17 points) and bottom-of-the-West San Jose (11 points). LAFC are currently in sixth on 15 points, but just one point clear of the red line.
