Inter Miami has traded away goalkeeper Bryan Meredith.

Meredith is headed to Vancouver to join the Whitecaps with Miami receiving a 2021 fourth-round draft pick in return.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper was acquired by Inter from Seattle Sounders as the fifth pick in the 2019 expansion draft.

Meredith joined Inter after spending two seasons at Seattle in his second spell at the club, though he only ever made one league appearance, spending both years on loan at Tacoma Defiance, the Sounders’ USL team.

The former Monmouth Hawks college keeper also spent time at San Jose Earthquakes and New York Cosmos, among others.

He now links up with Vancouver, leaving Miami with three goalkeepers, all three of which are likely to stay in South Florida between now and the start of the new season.

Diego Alonao has Luis Robles, John McCarthy and Drake Callender to call upon in the goalkeeper position.

Robles is likely to be Inter’s starting keeper with McCarthy as the former New York Red Bulls stoppers’ main back-up.
