Bill Tuiloma sealing his stay with the Portland Timbers with a multi- year contract

The Portland Timbers are making a statement for this upcoming 2020 season in re-signing their most important players, among one of them is center back defender Bill Tuiloma to a multi-year contract extension.

So far, the Rose City side is arming itself and preparing to be a strong competitor and contender.

Ever since his arrival at Rose City with T2, he became an impacting player, that earn him a direct call and place to the big team, nonetheless, he has become an important part of Timber’s defensive game.

For GM Gavin Wilkinson the architect of the success for the Rose City squad, he could not hide his joy of putting the pieces together of this team ahead of what looks ahead a contested 2020 season.

Bill Tuiloma 24, has played three seasons (2017-19) with the Portland Timbers, making 38 regular-season appearances (28 starts) and registering two goals.

In the 2018 campaign, Tuiloma logged 13 appearances (7 starts) and one goal, being a part of that team that won the Western Conference Championship and with two starts in four postseason games.

For Bill Tuiloma in 2019 was a breakout year, setting a career-best in appearances in (25), starting in (21) and with 1,919 minutes played and one goal scored in the regular season.   

In addition to Tuiloma playing with the New Zealand National Team, after making his debut on October 15, 2013, against Trinidad Tobago and tallying a total of 25 appearances.

A defender of high quality and potential to grow, as stated by his manager Giovanni Savarese of his delight and excitement of seeing the continuance of Bill Tuiloma with the Portland Timbers.
