With just 35 percent possession, the Seattle Sounders still matched Toronto FC in shots, and came away winning MLS Cup 2019, though most of the game was played in the defensive half.

In this video, I’ll break down how Seattle were able to stay compact on both defense and offense, and how that prevented Toronto from getting many clear opportunities.

I’ll also look at how, once in the final third, the Sounders then changed the offensive game plan, and became the free-flowing, attacking juggernaut we know it is capable of.
