Portland Timbers forward Brian Fernandez per league reports, has voluntarily entered MLS’ Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health (SABH) Program.
Brian Fernandez will undergo an assessment and will be cleared for participation by the SABH Program doctors, missing a good deal of his team activities.
Because of that he may not be available to play for the entire postseason.
The arrival of Brian Fernandez to the Portland Timbers came from Liga MX side Necaxa on May for a club record fee of $10 million dollars.
Ever since his arrival at the Rose City side, the man became an important piece in the Timbers attack.
In his first nine games the man scored eight goals in nine game appearances and being vital for the Timbers run in the US Open Cup and league play making an impact and making his team a contender.

However, this is not the first time Fernandez has dealt with substance abuse, in his day with Racing Club from Argentina, as a result of his suspension for a year by CONMEBOL after testing positive for cocaine.
