After loss to Dallas Timbers still searching for first win

So close but still too far away from that first win of this nascent season. So far, the Portland Timbers have come short of their objective, of winning their first game.

You must state of the polemic calls that cost the Timbers what at least could be a draw.

Still the game officials cannot be blame at all as well his fail so miserably with VAR. In the end, the man is only human and the controversial calls could not be the total blame.

As the Rose City, squad is in need to step up its game like the way these exhibited in the second half.

The need of injecting in their game some urgency, ambition, creativity and most of all consistency, that in the end will be the difference makers.

To step its game is for this team main requisite to play in the course of ninety minutes and put its best effort in both halves. This team needs seriously to put on a fight in every minute and cut their mistakes fully.

However, the blueprint that manager Savarese has envisioned is taking a turn for the better. As good things take time, I do give Gio an A for effort in spite of the storm.

For Giovanni Savarese in the end he is in need of continue ahead in his moves and continue with his boldness and not afraid of putting in display a number of moves that in the end will be the right ones.

Teamwork has been missing but this Saturday the Timbers lacking that killing punch in the first half, in the second this squad showed a lot of fight. With a stunning comeback, their efforts came short to not only draw but also net a win in this match.

My plea will be the continuance of that effective 5-3-2 formation that has brought some confidence in some player’s game, especially in the defensive backfield.

My other take is to see more bold moves in the starting lineup, with Cristhian Paredes and Andres Flores from the get go and Paredes contributing to the comeback rally with his goal and showing off a desire to many days like this.

In the end, the next challenge is call Columbus Crew and a reunion with an old friend Caleb Porter, will the first win arrive or at least rescue a point, we will see!
