Dynamo still undefeated after downing Earthquakes 2-1

The Houston Dynamo got another big win at home to remain undefeated in MLS, defeating the San Jose Earthquakes 2-1. As for the Earthquakes the loss was their fifth with Matias Almeyda as coach and are still down in the standings with only three points to show for this season. 

Alberth Elis and Tomas Martinez scored for the Orange in the second half to seal the win for the Texas team. Despite having chances to score including a missed Penalty Kick by Mauro Manotas, the team did enough to beat a limited San Jose side.

The Quakes tried but struggled to created chances to score. Their real chances came from shots outside the box. And even tough Houston was superior throughout the match, the Quakes defense contained the fast attack of the home team.

The San Jose goal came in via Jackson Yueill only four minutes after Elis opened the scored for the Orange at the 52’. However, it was not enough for the visitors who wanted to get points outside of home because Martinez scored one of the best goals of the weekend at the 60’.

Now Houston will travel west to visit the LA Galaxy on a Friday night match on April 19th, whereas San Jose will host Sporting KC on April 20th.
