Toronto FC II 0-Penn FC 1

Being an expansion side is never easy. Injuries always happen at the wrong time, players are still getting used to one another, and there is always a sense of uncertainty that permeates on the pitch. But if there is one thing that Penn have shown early in the 2018 season it is that they are going to meet any and all challenges head on. Despite seeing a penalty kick chance stopped Penn FC  (2-3-4, 10 points) rebounded and earned a late 1-0 win over Toronto FC II (0-6-2, 2 points) in front of 4,100 schoolchildren at Monarch Park Stadium.

Penn FC’s goal came from Miguel Jaime in the 87th minute, a high curling shot that was just beyond the reach of goalkeeper Angelo Cavalluzzo. The goal was his first of the 2018 season. The match took a bit of a dark turn on the play as Cavalluzzo went down with an injury after attempting to make the stop. He was down for nearly ten minutes and had to be carted off of the field on a stretcher.

On hand to cover the match was photographer Michael Fayehun. You can follow him on Instagram here and on Twitter here . Also, our full gallery of TFC photos can be found on SmugMug. In the meantime please enjoy of our photos from the match below.
