Seattle Sounders 2-Toronto FC 1

In just his first season Handwalla Bwana has become an immediate fan favorite for the Seattle Sounders. Whether it is his willingness to make a deep defensive run, never letting a play die, or just his smile and passion that he puts into every match the 18-year old Homegrown Player has won over his teammates, the coaches, and most importantly the supporters. On Wednesday night at BMO Field he added yet another reason to feel hopeful about his future as he scored his first MLS goal in the Sounders (2-4-2, 8 points) 2-1 win over Toronto FC (2-5-1, 7 points).

Will Bruin gave Seattle the lead with his goal in the 25th minute, finishing off a pass from across the pitch from Magnus Wolff Eikrem. The goal was his third of the 2018 season. Toronto FC struck back just before halftime with Jonathan Osorio, heading home a chip by Sebastian Giovinco in the 40th minute to make things level at one. But in the second half Seattle took the lead for good with Bwana finishing off a pass deep into Toronto’s territory from Bruin in the 54th minute.
