FIRE DROP PRESEASON TILT TO MONTREAL:  On Wednesday, the Fire dropped a 2-1 decision to the Montreal Impact in preseason play at the IMG Academy. Bastian Schweinsteiger, Luis Solignac, Daniel Johnson, Drew Conner, and Matt Polster all did not dress for the friendly. Dax McCarty got the only goal for the Fire while Ignacio Piatti and Matteo Mancuso scored for the Impact.

Brandt Bronico, Mo Adams, and Diego Campos played all 90 minutes while the remainder of the starters played 60 minutes.
RED STARS CALLED UP TO USWNT:  It’s the usual suspected for the Red Stars as goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher, defender Casey Short, midfielder Julie Ertz, and forward Sofia Huerta were called to the preliminary roster for the SheBelieves Cup. The four-team competition begins March 4th vs. France (11am CT, ESPN2) followed by a march on March 7th vs. England (6pm, ESPNews).
RED STARS ALLOCATED PLAYERS:  Ertz, Naeher, and Short have been listed as allocated Federation Players by the NWSL on Thursday. All three had that status last season. Ex-Red Stars Christen Press retains her allocates status as a member of the Houston Dash.
RED STARS PRESEASON SCHEDULE:  The Red Stars also announced their preseason schedule for 2018. It starts February 24th against Marquette University at 2:30pm in a closed-door friendly. That’s followed by a March 4th contest with the University of Wisconsin—also behind closed doors. After that, the Red Stars will be in the Portland Thorns Spring Invitational at the University of Portland.
The Red Stars will open against the Thorns on March 11th at 7pm CT, followed by the Houston Dash on March 14th at 3:30pm CT, and conclude with the US Under-23 Women’s National Team on March 17th at 5:30pm CT.
