Radio Cascadia Ep. 129: Decision Day 2017

0

The penultimate weekend of the 2017 MLS campaign brought disappointment for the Vancouver Whitecaps as they failed to clinch the Western Conference crown in a home match with San Jose. However, the mood across the region as a whole is a joyous one — all three of our clubs will make the postseason for only the second time ever in MLS play. Furthermore, it seems they’re likely to finish 1-2-3 in the West!

The gang reviews all the action from the last Sunday before moving on to preview the Decision Day slate.

Is our final Cascadia derby of the regular season, Vancouver @ Portland, the most important league match ever in Cascadia? The winner (or Vancouver, in the event of a draw) will finish atop the Western Conference. Michael McColl of AFTN joins us to discuss this question and many others as we dive deep into this historically important match up.

Jeff Lageson, Prost Amerika NWSL correspondent, calls in to discuss the Thorns’ title win in Orlando, and sticks around the recap the Reign’s season as well.

2017 is turning into a banner year for Cascadia, and Decision Day will tell us so much about how we ultimately remember this incredibly close season in the Western Conference. Come get hyped with us as we wait for the drama to unfold.
