Toronto FC are your 2017 Major League Soccer Supporters Shield Champions! After ten long seasons Toronto earned their first-ever regular season title in a way that only their 2017 side could: by putting on a goal-fest. On Saturday night it was the New York Red Bulls that would find themselves digging the ball out of the back of the net. Despite giving up the lead to their Eastern Conference foes Toronto would come storming back late in the second half to earn the 4-2 victory.

In the first half Toronto received a pair of goals from defender Justin Morrow (32′ and 37′) to give them the advantage and the belief that perhaps champagne would be popped on the night. But all cause for celebration for have to be tampered down as the Red Bulls would come storming thanks to Gonzalo Veron (39′) and Daniel Royer (77′). In the end though The Reds would not be denied with Victor Vasquez (80′) providing the match-winner and Morrow (90+1′) adding icing to the cake in injury time.
