In this week’s edition of Hinton Unleashed, Prost Amerika video columnist Alan Hinton previewed this weekend’s Cascadia derby between the Sounders and Portland Timbers. He also discussed the impact of Seattle’s newest acquisition midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro.

Cascadia rivals Seattle Sounders FC and Portland Timbers square off twice in a week. Seattle hosts Portland on Sunday and heads down to Houston for a midweek clash against the Dynamo. On August 28, the Sounders travel to Portland for the return leg of their Pacific Northwest clash.
According to Hinton, the appointment of interim head coach Brian Schmetzer and acquisition of midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro gives Seattle the edge over their southern neighbors. The Sounders are unbeaten in their last three games (2-0-1) since the coaching change and Lodeiro’s arrival in Seattle.
