Despite playing in one of the coldest matches in professional football history, Toronto FC’s hot attack melted the Colorado Rapids 2-0 in the first stage of their CONCACAF Champions League series.
Jonathan Osorio (53′) and Sebastian Giovinco (75′) would both find the back of the net for The Reds. Colorado did have their own attacking chances (including a scintillating shot by Dominique Badji in the first half). But credit to the TFC defense for staying organized against a Rapids side that have undergone several changes since the offseason.
