Cristhian Paredes is officially a Portland Timber

On loan, Cristhian Paredes finally joins the Portland Timbers

 

Cristhian Paredes and the Portland Timbers have made it official. As their newest member to call Rose City home and reinforce its midfield.

For the 19-year-old international from Paraguay, his arrival in the Portland Timbers camp is a positive sign. By arming a strong midfield per newcomer manager Gio Savarese, Paredes will fulfill his plans for this area.

In spite of becoming the third midfielder, Paredes among one of his traits are his youth and great game. That will play an important role in competing in the preseason for a starting job.

Moreover with a simple “I’m here and I’m ready to go”. Coming to play in Major League Soccer, Paredes starts a new chapter in his career.

His debut with Sol de America in 2016, making 30 starts and one goal. In 2017, he moved to Mexico’s Club America making two starts in Liga Mx.

Another highlight in his career is his multiple participations with the Paraguayan National Team. With appearances in the 2015 U-17 World Cup in Chile and captain of the U-20, team in four games.

The arrival of Cristhian Paredes to the Portland squad is a positive one and to boost its midfield. One by applying his technique and contributing in the field will be a great asset. In brief, his influence in the Timbers game plan will be of great value.

Altogether, the Paraguayan can occupy a spot in Gio Savarese initial eleven behind Diego Chara and David Guzman. The new challenge in front given by Paredes can start up a competition with these two for a starting spot.

Not only Paredes can play a role as a defensive midfield, he can deliver as an offensive one. Seen as a possible substitute to the hole left by Darlington Nagbe.

Also with his youth and hunger to compete and learning at the same time. With just 19 years of age, Cristhian Paredes will contribute with a tactical and dynamic game.  If Christian delivers in the preseason and earns a spot in the big team, the Timbers got their man.

In due, time the acquisition of Cristhian Paredes, the Portland Timbers will have a plus with his talent and youth. As the upcoming MLS season foreseen as one contested one, the goal is to build for the future. So far, for Portland Timbers General Manager Gavin Wilkinson his work speaks aloud.

Cristhian Paredes comes on loan with the option to buy. As both Club America from Mexico Liga MX and MLS Portland Timbers come to an agreement. On February 2, 2018, he is a part of the Mighty PTFC.
