The Portland Timbers unveiled today their plans to expand Providence Park to add approximately 4,000 new seats for the start of the 2019 MLS and NWSL Seasons. The club has enjoyed the longest string of sold out games on MLS and has 13,000 people on the waiting list for season tickets. The project has been developed in cooperation with the city of Portland, and the neighborhood associations, Mike Golub, the club’s President of Business, said “The city of Portland has been very responsive, very cooperative, and eager to have this private investment of over 50 million dollars”. The project has been designed by local firm Allied Works Architecture and will be developed in two phases starting as soon as the 2017 season ends.
