For third time in club’s history, the Houston Dynamo opened the season with back-to-back wins in its first two matches in 2017. The Forever Orange dynamic trio scored a goal each to beat the Columbus Crew 3-1 at BBVA Compass Stadium.

The Hondurans Romell Quioto and Alberth Elis each scored in the first half and Mexican international Erick Torres scored in the second half to give Houston the victory over a Columbus team that have many unsuccessful chances to score during the match.

The Crew did have some chances of their own. However, Houston goalkeeper Tyler Deric saved the Dynamo on multiple chances. During the second half, Houston controlled the possession of the ball. In addition, the dynamic attack the Orange has, complicated a Columbus defense that was exposed by the speed Houston’s strikers played. Even though the Crew offense was not effective during most of the match, they scored via Ola Kamara in stoppage time for the final 3-1.

In Week 3 Houston will be visiting the Portland Timbers. This is one of the most exciting matches of the week, since both teams are undefeated in the season and share the top place in the West. The Crew meanwhile will be visiting the DC United looking for its first win of the season.
