Bayern Munich got some semblance of revenge against Atletico Madrid in their final match of the group stage in the UEFA Champions League, 1-0. The match was dead rubber as both teams were assured of their places in Group D and in the Round of 16 with Atletico finishing top of the group.

It was a Robert Lewandowski free kick that decided the match in the 28th minute as he curled one past Jan Oblak for the only score. Atletico’s best chance was earlier in the ninth minute as Yannick Carrasco came close only to be denied by Manuel Neuer.

The win is Bayern’s 15th successive home win in the Champions League and they will be among the second place teams in the draw on Monday at 5am CT in Lyon. Bayern return to league play against VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday at 8:30am CT on FS1.
