Can there be a Miracle in the Bronx?

The MLS playoffs are on the line on Sunday when NYCFC face off in the second leg against Toronto FC. Patrick Vieira’s men have dug a deep hole but stranger things have happened.

By losing 2-0 in Toronto, NYCFC need at least two goals and a clean sheet to move on to the next round. With attacking options like Sebastian Giovinco, Jozy Altidore and Tosaint Rickettes to match up against, the boys in blue have their work cut out for them. NYCFC have been porous in defense this year and clean sheets do not come easy

NYCFC can be more optimistic of their chances to score, however. Andrea Pirlo is off the injury report, but it is certain if he will play or not. If not Mikey Lopez or Tommy MacNamara look to line up in his place. Frank Lampard is almost a sure starter although his minutes may be limited. David Villa has scored 23 goals this season and looks to add a few more on Sunday.

Look for NYCFC to be aggressive from the start and set the pace. They must be very careful not to give up an away goal to Toronto. One goal from the Canadians make the mountain even higher for NYCFC. The stadium should be rowdy and loud on Sunday for the game. NYCFC can make it even louder with a resounding win.
