Buy and large Seattle opted to waste time and shepherd the game out. However there were a few not on board with that idea. Joevin Jones and Nico Lodeiro notable elected to cut in on goal instead of running to the corner flag.

The Seattle Sounders 2016 MLS season played host to the lowest of lows and the highest of highs. Never has a Sounders team looked so certain to miss the playoffs. And never has a Sounder team entered the playoffs with more momentum or in a better run of form. In the Sounders last 14 games they’ve gone 8-2-4. I streak that includes no home losses and wins over their fiercest rivals and closest competition. The game itself was hard fought with the Sounders shepherding a 2-1 lead for 60 minutes in oder to earn the victory.

With the win the Sounders secure the fourth seed in the Western Conference. Good enough to host the all important knockout round. Where they’ll either win and see their late season surge venture onwards into the later stages of the playoffs, or lose and see it this season, as well as Zach Scott’s professional career come to an end.

For the Sounders thoughts on the game, their playoff chances, and the importance of Mr. Sounder Zach Scott, watch the videos below.
