Vancouver, BC- On Thursday night the Vancouver Whitecaps bolstered their CONCACAF Champions League chances by dispatching Central FC 4-1 in front of 17,038 at BC Place. Goals for the Whitecaps were scored by Blas Perez (11′), Christian Techera (22′ and 70′), and Masato Kudo (49′). Sean De Silva notched Central FC’s lone goal in the 44th minute.

The Whitecaps victory ensured that they finished the Group Stage with the maximum number of points possible (4-0-0, 12 points). With their CCL matches for the moment finished, the club will have to sit and wait to find out what their seed will be and who they will face in the knockout stage. In the meantime the Caps will continue their drive towards the MLS Cup Playoffs on Sunday with a very important home match against the Seattle Sounders (8pm EST FS1, TSN).
