The Houston Dash carried out an extraordinary offensive game plan to beat the Boston Breakers 4-1 at BBVA Compass Stadium during the Military and First Responders Appreciation Night last Sunday.

Kealia Ohai and Janine Beckie each scored a goal and Carli Lloyd scored twice to give Houston the win over a Boston team that couldn’t stop the Texans. The Dash controlled the pace of the match, as the Breakers could not keep possession of the ball and played a very defensive game.

The home team took the initiative and created several goal opportunities which gave them the partial 2-0 at half time, after goals from Beckie and Ohai. The second half was a continuation of the first one. Houston, who has been showing improvements since all the players who competed in the Olympics returned, kept up the pressure on a Boston team, which showed their exhaustion from a grueling schedule on the road. Even though the Dash had control of the match, the Breakers managed to score in the 76th minute. The comeback was not possible for the Eastern team as Carli Lloyd scored twice at the 78th and 81st minute to lead the way for the sixth win of the season for Houston.

The Dash, who are already out of the playoffs, have only one more match this year. They will host the Seattle Reign, who need the win to get into the last playoff spot, on September 25th at BBVA Compass Stadium.
